Explain your research to 12-year-olds...
Hands-on workshop:
Translate your own research into language that hooks young and non-expert audiences — with pedagogical techniques, peer feedback rounds and live mini-interventions in the Transformer Co-Creation Space.
- Participants can explain their own research so that a 12-year-old — or any non-expert audience — understands it, remembers it and cares about it.
- They know core techniques of science communication (audience analysis, analogies, storytelling, hands-on framing), have applied them in live mini-pitches with structured peer feedback, and can transfer them to outreach activities, teaching, public engagement and the impact sections of research proposals.
Short theory inputs and pedagogical tips, hands-on practice with participants’ own research topics, live mini-pitches, structured peer feedback rounds, facilitated group reflection.
Researchers at all career stages who want to make their own research understandable to children, young people and other non-expert audiences. No prior experience in science communication required.
